We work with a diverse group of clients from around the globe.
Some live in our area but the vast majority are from all around the country; and some are in foreign countries. Some are just entering their peak earning years, some have just stopped working, and others have been retired for quite some time. Our clients are doctors, teachers, lawyers, pilots, business owners, athletes, ranchers, real estate brokers, home builders, network engineers, writers, dentists and many other occupations. We truly enjoy working with them all and learn a great deal from their diversity of experience.
Though they come from different backgrounds, our clients tend to share several important concerns:
Protect Their Family– This is a big concern on various levels, depending on each client’s current station in life. Younger parents with minor children are concerned about providing for their children in the event of an unforeseen tragedy but they also worry about monthly budgeting issues and large expenses like college. Older parents with grown children and perhaps grandchildren worry about passing assets efficiently to their heirs. Sometimes these older parents are interested in helping their adult children financially with gifts or loans. This can be a delicate situation that needs to be handled with care. Of course, these concerns are addressed once we’ve developed a plan to provide for a surviving spouse or significant other.
Retirement– This is a huge concern for almost all our clients. Whether a client is already retired or has 30 years to go, our primary concern is the all-important retirement income stream. If you are not working then you need a place to draw money to pay your daily, monthly and yearly expenses. Far too many people rely on Social Security as their only source of retirement income. We work with clients to explore multiple income stream opportunities both before and throughout retirement.
Comprehensive Financial Advice and Professional Asset Management– Many of our clients are busy people who juggle family, work and social activities. They don’t have the time or desire to continually monitor their evolving financial planning needs or manage their investments on a daily basis. They rely on us to steward their assets and suggest changes as needed.
Tax Efficient Investing– We work with many people in higher tax brackets. For them, it’s important that we manage their assets in a tax efficient manner. At some level, these factors should be considered for all clients, regardless of their current tax bracket. While we can manage a portfolio to be as tax efficient as possible, we do not provide specific personal tax advice. Tax laws are often complex and change rather frequently. We strongly suggest our clients develop a relationship with a tax professional; someone who can help them best construct an entire tax plan as well as strategize with us as necessary to assure they maximize tax strategies and qualified vehicles appropriate in each of their situations.
