Shelby Smith

Shelby

Shelby grew up in Wareham, MA – “Gateway to Cape Cod”, the oldest of 4 children – she double majored in college and graduated with undergraduate degrees in 1984, studying at Alliance College and Edinboro University. Her academic achievements include being a featured student in Academic Who’s Who, and one of only 25 recipients of the annual Christian A Herter Memorial Academic Scholarship from the State of Massachusetts.

She began her financial services career in 1986 in Atlanta, GA, with a national financial planning company. Throughout her experiences in the financial services arena, she gravitated to the Trust and Estate Planning segment of the business when she relocated to Clearwater, Florida. In conjunction with a select group of local attorneys, she specialized in assisting clients create, execute, and register assets to various forms of trust ownership.

Shelby continued acquiring greater insight, experience and proficiency serving as a Trust Administrator for a local Central Florida Trust Department continuing to build and expand her education at Florida Trust School and Cannon Financial Institute. She continued her professional journey to one of the world’s largest institutional discount brokerages as Institutional Relationship Specialist, serving registered investment advisors across the country. While a diverse and exceptional opportunity, this still lacked the rewarding and fulfilling presence of working directly with clients to assist them in achieving their financial wellbeing. This led her to team up with Jeff in 2008.

Shelby’s education and knowledge of the financial industry, as well as over 38 years’ experience in retail, institutional, and trust practices equips her well on the team. She heads up our financial planning division and is licensed and registered in securities trading. Shelby also helps manage sensitive relationships with specific needs such as trusts, estates, and corporate sponsored plans.

She and her husband reside in Orlando, enjoy spending time with their children, and often visit Shelby’s son George who lives in Manhattan. She loves animals, travel, the New England Patriots, and a good margarita.
